100 things about me.

An ongoing project, I’ll add to it once and a while, maybe even subtract from it too.

1. I am 32.

2. I am a very typical Virgo-anal, a bit of a perfectionist, you get the picture!

3. I never wanted to have children.

4. I love my children more than life itself and would gladly risk my life to save them.

5. I hate reality TV. More than anything, I hate it. I don’t understand the draw of it at all.

6. I don’t trust people that don’t smile at my kids. You don’t have to fawn all over them and go on and on about how cute they are-although it’s appreciated! LOL!-but at least smile. You must have a cold heart indeed if you look at my girls and don’t at least smile at them.

7. I’m crafty, but I just dabble in it. I don’t get serious about a lot of craft stuff, which is worrying my husband right now-as my pile of papercrafting gear gets bigger and bigger! I know part of him is just waiting for the day when it joins my cross-stitching gear and my cake decorating gear in a big box in the basement!

8. I loved school, and can’t wait to get back to university or college.

9. I love taking pictures, but I’m stuck in the dark ages and still use film.

10. I don’t like wishy-washy people.

11. I like to drink tequila. Like really, really like the taste of it. I don’t shoot it, or try to find ways to cover the flavour-it really tastes good to me.

12. I love to cook. I would be happy in the kitchen all day just cooking-as long as someone else cleaned! I tried to make a living at it. Too stressful, too busy, too hot, too many drugs and alcohol.

13. I often worry that I’ve spent the best years of my life in a smoke-filled basement stoned out of my mind complaining about the place I lived and the people I lived/worked with.

14. I used to smoke, quit for good about 2 years ago, but I still miss it. Not the taste or the smell, but there’s something about it I miss.

15. I graduated with honors from High School.

16. I flunked out of University! (WTF????-yes it’s true!!!)

17.Hubby and I have been together since High School.

18. One of my biggest pet peeves lately is people’s insistence on pushing blame/responsibility on others. Take control of your life and make your own decisions! And, if it was the wrong decision-live with it!

19. I was born in Saskatoon, my parents were 22 and 23 at the time. Their families didn’t know about me though until my parents showed up in NS with a toddler and another on the way! I’ve always had issues with that. Why not tell anyone that you’ve had a baby? I guess they had their reasons-but I’ll never know them. We don’t talk about stuff like that in my family.

20. My parents separated when I was a teenager (my last year of high school). It really affected me. Still does. They treated me like an adult, when I desperately wanted to be treated like a child. I didn’t want to hear about the messy details, I didn’t want to hear the snarky comments, I just didn’t want to know. When I was vacationing at my mom’s this summer, her and my step-dad were having issues. I had panic attacks, flashbacks, etc of it all happening again-and me being in the middle again. They turned out OK, but I was surprised at how badly I dealt with it.

21. I believe that Global Warming is a real problem, and that this generation has to be the turning point to dealing with it.

22. I suffer from road frustration. It very rarely turns into road rage, but I am often frustrated when driving!

23. I just got my first digital camera!

24. I think Crocs are ugly. I don’t care how comfortable they are, they are ugly. There are nice-looking comfy shoes out there, you don’t need to wear them! Yuck!!!!

25. I think that the layering look was engineered by the fashion industry to sell more clothes. Considering that I can’t find a v-neck or a cowl neck shirt or sweater that doesn’t show off my nipples, I take part in the layering fad….I don’t like it though!

26. I am a card-carrying native Canadian-Micmac to be more specific. I belong to the only Indian reserve on the island of Newfoundland.

27. I was an extra in a movie once. The movie was called ‘Margaret’s Museum’ and starred Helena Bonham Carter. I’m in one of the early scenes…..blink and you miss me!

28. The one food item I could live off of are potatoes…and butter….OK 2 items!!!

29. I love potlucks, I like to make different foods all the time….I like to change things up a bit! I don’t know how my friends feel about being my guinea pigs! A certain spinach dip with feta cheese comes to mind…..

30. I love my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. I secretly refer to it as my 3rd child! I love the fact that I can make bread now and actually have it turn out!

31. I have hazel eyes

32. I have mousey-brown hair.

33. I love watching old movies. My favs are Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Auntie Maime, any Hitchcock film (Rear Window is the best!) and anything with James Stewart-I just love that voice!

34. I love music-the radio is the first thing I turn on in the morning, and it’s on whenever I am in the kitchen or in the car. I love going to concerts, if I ever won the lotto, I would travel the world, going to music concerts all over.

35. I’m really quite lazy, and I am a horrible procrastinator.

36. I like to watch documentaries. I like the social science ones, and the ‘classical science’ ones the best.

37. I love to read, I’ll read just about anything that catches my eye. I really like to read Canlit though-it’s a Canuck thing I guess!

38. I absolutely think that the sound of kids giggling should be an option on alarm clocks. Just imagine waking to the sounds of children laughing-how could you not have a wonderful day?

39.  This list has intimidated me to no end-you’d think it would be easy wouldn’t you?

40.  I bought a pair of crocs last week.  I know!  But, my mom has a cabin and a pair of comfy shoes that slip on and off easily are essential.  And they were on sale.

41.  I miss being able to buy a $6.00 coffee if I so desired.  Not that I desired too often, but it was nice to have the option.
