I’m so sad for the young family involved in this tragedy. A young man, Alan Hill went missing in the fall of 2007. His car was found at the side of a road, no signs of foul play, nothing. Massive searches went on, there were web pages and facebook pages dedicated to finding him. Here’s a news release from today: http://www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=129683&sc=145 It’s so sad. I couldn’t imagine losing anyone in this way-going so long without knowing the truth, wondering if they are wandering around hurt or lost somehow. RIP Allan.

My Lucky Day!
Yesterday when I was outside playing with the kids I found a fifty dollar bill! I was amazed! It was just on the other side of my fence. One of my neighbors had been walking his dog by there, so I asked if it was his. Nope! I was out for another hour or so, and no-one came by looking for it. I won’t spend it right away just in case someone comes to the door, or is looking around for it. Otherwise, it’s mine! Yay!
Here’s a picture of the picture Alex made on the concrete pad outside our house. It’s pretty nice! She’s the astronaut, our 2 cats are in space too, and the flag on earth is the Cape Breton flag-I like it!
Holy Cow!!
Now I know how to get my numbers up! At the end of every post, I’ll just post a pic of celebrity (or their on-air nickname!) and just watch the counter go up! 21 views yesterday-that’s a lot for my little ol site-and something like 17 were related to Grey’s in some way.
Grr…
Oh, and hubby STILL hasn’t tried the spice loaf! I swear, if it isn’t covered in chocolate and icing sugar, he won’t eat it! I’m glad I had the sense to freeze half of it right away (in convenient slices-look at me, I’m amazing! And tired..oh so tired.) otherwise it would have gone to waste!
Ugh…
Tired. So very, very tired. Worked the backshift last night and only slept for 4 hours so far today. I’ve had some coffee (very strong, we tried the Kirkland brand-wowzas!) but I still feel like I’m in a daze. Hubby has (of course!) fallen dead asleep on the couch, and the girls are playing in the yard. It’s a beautiful day out there, hopefully I get a chance to enjoy it sometime-or else at least fall asleep!
Yummy
I can’t wait for another half hour or so! I am making Spiced Country Loaf, and it smelled so good when I mixed the batter up-my house is going to smell so yummy when I take it out! I love smells like that, gingerbready, comforting smell……If it turns out I will post a picture-I finally figured out how to post pics and download pics from my new digital camera-if you couldn’t already tell.
The recipe is Anna Olsen’s, and can be found here: http://www.foodtv.ca/recipes/recipedetails.aspx?dishid=6747
ETA: It was OK, made my house smell soooo good! I was expecting more of a spice kick from it, but it was pretty mild. I will make it again, but only after I get slipat to put in the bread pan-it stuck to the bottom!
It’s baaaccckkkk!!!!
Grey’s Anatomy that is. I loved last night’s episode, it was a good ‘un! I am really hoping that Meredith and McDreamy finally get together or break up, three seasons (or is it 4?) is a little long to drag this relationship out. I was very happy to see McSteamy(Eric Dane) again. Sigh…..he’s wonderful.

Let the drooling commence!
Our dream vacation
Hubby and I have spent some time in Portugal, we had a wonderful time and vowed that we would be back in Europe for a much longer trip. We’ve decided to wait until the girls are teenagers, then we plan on travelling through Europe with them. We’re going to see all the historical stuff, maybe even hit one of the big music festivals, that sort of thing. One of the places I am dying to go is Greece, specifically Santorini. Looks like this:

Well, probably doesn’t look like that in all areas, but it’s still pretty isn’t it?
There’s one issue though: the ferries. Greece is a country made up of a lot of little islands, and the islands are sometimes the most beautiful areas to see. You can’t really do much sight-seeing in Greece without getting on a boat. Hubby is terrified of big boats-he gets seasick, very seasick. I didn’t even realize it how badly until we were watching Lonely Planet the other night, and one clip showed the traveler getting on a very old-looking ferry-hubby literally went pale at the thought! I guess we’ll have to leave him in Athens for a while!
